Mill City becomes “Multi-Gig City” with fastest household internet in the Northwest thanks to launch of Ziply™ Fiber’s ultra-high-speed fiber-optic internet network

Residents now have immediate access to 5-gig, 2-gig and Gig-speed internet and phone services; specialized small business services also now available

Kirkland, Wash. (February 8, 2022) – Ziply™ Fiber announced today that its ultra-high-speed, 100-percent fiber-optic network is now ready for service in Mill City, Oregon, enabling its popular “Gig-speed,” or Gigabit fiber connectivity, and its industry leading 5-gig and 2-gig residential services to more than 1,300 addresses throughout the city. This launch makes Mill City one of the fastest cities in the nation when it comes to household internet speeds.

In total, more than 1,600 residences and businesses will have access to Ziply Fiber’s network when network construction is complete. Ziply Fiber is bridging the digital divide that exists between large metro areas and many suburbs and rural communities.

“I am extremely pleased with the investment that Ziply Fiber is making in Mill City and the North Santiam Canyon,” said Tom Kirsch, Mill City Mayor. “Infrastructure of this nature is crucial to rural communities and the people that want to live there. It is what promotes business, economic growth and livability.”

Ziply Fiber’s goal is always to leave an area in a condition as good if not better than before construction began. If residents notice something has been missed, the company wants to know about it and asks that details be shared at https://ziplyfiber.com/constructioncleanup.

“Ziply Fiber is proud to continue our mission of building the fastest, most advanced internet network in the Northwest with the launch of Mill City’s multi-gig, fiber-optic internet network,” said Harold Zeitz, CEO of Ziply Fiber. “Today’s launch proves you don’t need to live in a big city to have great internet.”

With no data caps and no annual contracts for residential users, Ziply Fiber’s service launch comes at a time when more and more families and businesses are looking for fast and reliable internet to support the online needs of daily life in today’s world.

New and existing customers who wish to check their address for fiber availability, or who would like to sign-up to be alerted when fiber internet is available at their home or business, can register at https://ziplyfiber.com/MillCity. When fiber is shown as available at their address, Ziply’s existing DSL customers can upgrade by calling 1-866-699-4759.

The work in Mill City is part of Ziply Fiber’s commitment to invest more than $500 million over the next two to three years to build an advanced, 100-percent fiber network to both suburban and rural communities across the Northwest that have been underserved when it comes to internet access. The company has been actively building fiber across the Northwest since June 2020 and has plans to build and deploy new fiber-optic cables, local hubs, new offices, and new hardware to run the network as part of hundreds of additional projects across its 250,000-square-mile footprint.

Ziply Fiber’s primary service offerings are Fiber Internet and phone for residential customers, Business Fiber Internet and Ziply Voice services for small businesses, and a variety of Internet, networking, and voice solutions for enterprise customers. The company will continue to support Ziply Internet (DSL) customers, and its TV customers in Washington and Oregon. A full listing of products and services can be found at ziplyfiber.com.
