6,000 homes, apartments and businesses have access to fiber Internet today, with thousands more on the way
Kirkland, Wash. (April 23, 2021) – Ziply™ Fiber today announced that its gig-speed fiber Internet service is now available and ready for service in Pullman, Washington and Moscow, Idaho. The company just completed a critical phase of its all-new, state-of-the-art fiber-optic network build-out in the two cities, which has enabled the blazingly-fast service and its symmetrical upload/download speeds that are critical in today’s world. Thirty percent of the approximately 21,000 residential and business addresses within the company’s initial build area are ready for fiber service today, with the remainder scheduled for completion over the next few weeks and months.
With no data caps and no annual contracts for residential users, Ziply Fiber’s service launch comes at a time when many students are locking in their housing plans for the fall and looking for places with the kind of fast, reliable Internet to support online learning. Ziply Fiber is supporting local communities like Moscow and Pullman to help improve internet connectivity to be on par with larger metropolitan areas throughout the nation. The speed and reliability that fiber will deliver to college students, residents and businesses is critical in today’s online world where work web conferences, online learning and streaming entertainment are often all happening at the same time, something outdated cable technologies were never meant to support.

The company is investing $500 million over the next two to three years to build an advanced fiber network to smaller towns and rural communities across the Northwest that have been underserved when it comes to internet access. As Ziply Fiber lights-up the first addresses in Moscow and Pullman, it will be the fourth fiber build project to go live in each state in less than a year.
While work will continue over the next several weeks in a staggered rollout across both cities, Ziply Fiber already has deployed many miles of new fiber-optic cables throughout the region and will continue to build out more locations. The company believes that everyone – not just those who live in big cities – should have access to fast and reliable internet. Ziply Fiber has been actively building fiber to underserved markets across the Northwest since June 2020. While it will take time to upgrade 250,000 square miles of land throughout Ziply Fiber’s four-state service area with new fiber-optic cables, local hubs, new offices and new hardware to run the network, the company is capitalized for and committed to hundreds more projects.
As the company continues its rollout of fiber-based services across the region over the next several months and years, its Ziply Internet (DSL) customers also will begin seeing service improvements.
