Ziply™ Fiber’s ultra-high-speed fiber-optic internet network ready for service in Sultan

Gig-speed fiber internet and fiber-based phone services now available to nearly 1,000 residences and businesses with thousands more on the way

Kirkland, Wash. (December 17, 2021) – Ziply™ Fiber today announced that its ultra-high-speed, 100-percent fiber-optic network is now ready for service in Sultan, Wash., enabling “Gig-speed”, or Gigabit fiber connectivity to nearly one-thousand residences and businesses for the first time ever. The company will continue its work building the fastest residential internet available in the region over the next several weeks. By the time the company’s construction is complete, Ziply Fiber will have built fiber connectivity to nearly 1,000 locations, giving area residents access to the company’s ultra-fast fiber internet and phone services.

“After months of work, we are proud to make Sultan our newest gig-speed city,” said Harold Zeitz, CEO of Ziply Fiber. “It becomes more imperative each day for people everywhere to have access to fast and reliable internet, whether they’re in small towns or big cities. With our service launch, we will help ensure that businesses and residents alike will have access to the best possible connections, suitable for all their needs.”

With no data caps and no annual contracts for residential users, Ziply Fiber’s service launch comes at a time when more and more families and businesses are looking for fast and reliable internet to support the online needs of daily life in today’s world. Those who wish to check their address for fiber availability, or who would like to sign-up to be alerted when fiber internet is available at their home or business, can register at ziplyfiber.com/sultan.

“Ziply’s expansion throughout Sultan will soon ensure that businesses and households will have more options for reliable, high-speed internet,” said Sultan Mayor Russell Wiita. “As we become increasingly dependent on reliable internet for our day-to-day business, education, and entertainment, investments like Ziply’s are a welcome improvement to our fiber infrastructure.”

The work in Sultan is part of Ziply Fiber’s commitment to invest more than $500 million over the next two to three years to build an advanced, 100-percent fiber network to both suburban and rural communities across the Northwest that have been underserved when it comes to internet access. The company has been actively building fiber across the Northwest since June 2020 and has plans to build and deploy new fiber-optic cables, local hubs, new offices, and new hardware to run the network as part of hundreds of additional projects across its 250,000-square-mile footprint.

Ziply Fiber’s primary service offerings are Fiber Internet and phone for residential customers, Business Fiber Internet and Ziply Voice services for small businesses, and a variety of Internet, networking, and voice solutions for enterprise customers. The company will continue to support Ziply Internet (DSL) customers, and its TV customers in Washington and Oregon. A full listing of products and services can be found at ziplyfiber.com.

Ziply Fiber is local in the Northwest, headquartered in Kirkland, Washington, and has major offices in Everett, Washington; Beaverton, Oregon; and Hayden, Idaho. Most of Ziply Fiber’s executive team, which consists of former executives from AT&T, CenturyLink, and Wave Broadband, either grew up in the Northwest or have spent the better part of 30 years living here. That local ownership and market familiarity is an important part of the company mindset and culture.
